The Yorktown Police Department announced on Tuesday that a 17-year-old - whose name is being withheld due to his eligibility for Youthful Offender Status - has been served with a criminal summons for second-degree harassment.
Police said that shortly after 4 p.m. on Feb. 6, officers responded to a Yorktown residence, where there was a report of harassment. The investigation determined that the teenager allegedly touched the victim’s thigh without consent. At his victim’s request, a criminal summons was obtained from the Yorktown Justice Court for a harassment charge.
On Monday, March 4, the summons was personally served on the defendant by an officer from the Yorktown Police Department. The teenager is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Wednesday, March 7 to respond to the charge.
